Principal’s Corner

It is that time of year to begin locating our kindergarten students for next year. If you have a child that will be starting kindergarten at Clinton next fall, please give us at call at 436-1132. We will record the child’s name and address so that you will receive important kindergarten registration information in the mail. If you have a neighbor that has a child ready for kindergarten, tell them to give us a call. Your child must turn 5 years of age by October 15, 2008 to enter kindergarten next year.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures: We have forwarded a new “Clinton Before and After School Procedures” form for you to complete and return. They were in last week’s Wednesday Folders and again today. If you completed one last week, you don’t need to do it again this week. One must be completed for each of your children.

If you change the after school procedures from the completed blue form on a certain day, you must send a written note with the child on the day you have made the changes. We want to keep our students safe during arrival and dismissal times.

Clinton Parent Student Teacher Compact:

Here’s the focus for each member of the Learning Community this week:

Family: Check your child’s backpack daily and sign and return necessary paperwork. You can find out what they are working on and learning with the items they bring home daily. Student: Take my items home daily in my backpack. Be responsible and bring my backpack home and to school daily.

School: Send home Wednesday Folder items each week to promote home/school communication. Send home student work and information to keep families informed of the learning at school.

Schoolwide Rules and Procedures: At Clinton School we have the following rules: Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible. We are teaching students procedures around the building. This week we are focusing on arrival and dismissal behavior. Students that are caught using these procedures may receive an “I Got Caught” sticker. If your child wears one home, ask them how they earned it.
