Schoolwide Rules and Procedures: At Clinton School we have the following rules: Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible. We are teaching students procedures around the building. This week we are focusing on office procedures. Students that are caught using these procedures may receive an “I Got Caught” sticker. If your child wears one home, ask them how they earned it.

Don’t ARRIVE until 7:45 a.m. Adults will be out to supervise at 7:45 a.m. for our students safety. Please do not bring your children until that time. If you need before school care, please contact Kristi Chambers at the Clinton Community Learning Center at 437-8835 or 770-8606.
Attendance: Attendance Goal for 2007-08: Let’s set our goal to have a 95% average daily attendance rate for the 2007-08 school year. Students that are in school learn!!
As of November 2, 2007, we have an average daily attendance rate of 96.39%.

Ten Ways to Help Your Children Get Organized:
- Use checklists. Help your child get into the habit of keeping a “to-do” list. Use checklists to post assignments, household chores, and reminders about what materials to bring to class.
- Organize homework assignments. Before beginning a homework session, encourage your child to number assignments in the order in which they should be done.
- Designate a study space. Your child should study in the same place every night. This doesn’t have to be a bedroom, but it should be a quiet place with few distractions.
- Set a designated study time. Your child should know that a certain time every day is reserved for studying and doing homework. If they don’t have homework, the reserved time should be used to read or practice math facts.
- Keep organized notebooks. Help your child keep track of papers by organizing them in a binder or notebook. This will help them review the material for each day’s learning.
- Conduct a weekly clean-up. Encourage your child to sort through book bags and notebooks on a weekly basis.
- Create a household schedule. Try to establish and stick to a regular dinner and bedtime. Children with a regular bedtime go to school well-rested and ready to learn.
- Keep a master calendar. Keep a calendar on the fridge that lists the events for the week. You could use the “Dates to Remember” section from each weekly newsletter to help.
- Prepare for the day ahead. Before your child goes to bed, pack schoolwork and books in their book bag. Lay out the next day’s clothes. This will cut down on morning confusion. If you need a book bag, please let us know.
- Provide needed support while your child is learning to become organized. Help your child develop organizational skills by being a good example.

--Wednesday, Nov. 14th—Vitamin Distribution for those that signed up. Pick up your vitamins at the Secured Entrance Monitor from 2:30-3:00 p.m. today.
--Saturday, November 17th‚ÄîBubba’s Closet from 8-10 a.m. at Everett Elementary‚Äî1123 C Street. Any elementary student, accompanied by an adult, may choose appropriate items of clothing to adopt and use for free!
--Tuesday, November 20th—7pm, Clinton Parent Group Meeting, Cafeteria
--Wednesday, November 21st‚ÄîNo School for LPS Elementary Students today. It’s Elementary Plan Day. Teachers will be at school planning wonderful teaching and learning experiences.
--Nov. 22-23rd—No School. Thanksgiving Break.
--Tuesday, November 27th—School dismisses at 1:33 p.m. for Professional Learning Community time for staff. Each team is working on Smart Goals for the areas of math and reading. We will work together to make sure that all students are on grade level in both math and reading as specified by the No Child Left Behind legislation.
