Principal’s Corner

It is that time of year to begin locating our kindergarten students for next year. If you have a child that will be starting kindergarten at Clinton next fall, please give us at call at 436-1132. We will record the child’s name and address so that you will receive important kindergarten registration information in the mail. If you have a neighbor that has a child ready for kindergarten, tell them to give us a call. Your child must turn 5 years of age by October 15, 2008 to enter kindergarten next year.

Grade 4 State Writing Assessment: Thank you to our fourth grade families for having their students here last week for the state writing assessment. We only had 3 students that needed to make up the test due to your efforts. Thanks!! I can’t wait to see how they score,. There were some great stories. Ask your child what they wrote about.

Schoolwide Title I Project: Clinton Elementary is a Schoolwide Title I school based on the number of free/reduced lunches exceeding 40%. Federal funds are allocated to the building to support teaching and learning and to support our school improvement efforts.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures: Remember that we pick up students on the basketball court at the end of the day. This helps us keep our students organized and accounted for. Please do not come in the building or block the doorway so that students may get out in an orderly and quick fashion. We appreciate your help.

Schoolwide Rules and Procedures: At Clinton School we have the following rules: Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible. We are teaching students procedures around the building. This week we are focusing on playground behavior. Students that are caught using these procedures may receive an “I Got Caught” sticker. If your child wears one home, ask them how they earned it.
