Message for Clinton Families – Week of May 18

May 16, 2020

Dear Clinton Families,

Here we go….heading into the last week of the 2019-2020 school year.  Thank you for all you continue to do to support your student(s) during this time.  This historic school year is one we will never forget!

Here is the CAMP (Computer-Art-Music-P.E.)   LINK for the upcoming week.  Also, resources will be available for families this summer including the following:

  • Daily Learning Challenges- Will be available all summer.  One new challenge will be posted each week.  Older challenges will be available for families throughout the summer.
  • Quarter 4 Curriculum Videos- Will be available on the remote learning site all summer (students WILL need to login with their LPS credentials)
  • Dreambox/Lexia- Available through June 30th

You can check out this new video from our friends at Blixt Locally Grown.  It’s called “Captain Soapman” and was created to spread hope and humor to young people and their families and features an all-star local cast, choreography, and original music.

We continue to provide Grab & Go meals at Clinton Door 3 each Monday from 11:00 – 12:30.  This will continue through the month of June.

Below are important updates from LPSDO.  Have a wonderful last week of school.  Wishing you and your families all the best!

Thank you,

Angee Luedtke – Principal

Important Information from LPSDO:

Kindergarten Registration & Assessment

Do you have or know a child that will be five before July 31 and ready to start kindergarten? It’s time to register! Because of current health directives, we are only taking online registrations at this time. Please visit our website to start the registration process. You will need your child’s birth certificate to get started. If you have questions or can’t fill out the online application, please call your school.

Chromebooks over the summer

Just a reminder that students in grades 2-11 will be keeping their Chromebooks at home over the summer unless they are leaving Lincoln Public Schools. Below are some things you can do to keep your Chromebook healthy and ready for the fall. Students may continue to use their Chromebook over the summer for extended learning activities. Just remember:

  • Charge the Chromebook every night
  • Restart the Chromebook daily
  • Carry your Chromebook in the LPS provided protective bag (grades 6-12) or in a personal backpack or other protective case (grades 2-5)
  • Just like during the school year, summer Chromebook use is governed by a responsible use agreement and all websites are filtered by LPS.

Not planning on using the Chromebook during the summer? If you do not intend to use the Chromebook for more than a few days, plug it in until the battery is fully charged, and then power it completely off. Families may refer to this resource with best practices to care for the device until school resumes.
